Roses:
A general love expression is made by giving roses. Roses can further mean different expressions based on their different colours. Statistically, red roses are the most purchased roses on Valentine’s Day.

Red roses- True love , Romance, Respect and Passion
Pink roses – Happiness, Love, Sweetness, Admiration

Lilies:
Lilies represent life, new birth. Lilies come closed and over time the petals start to open to expose a beautiful and sometimes scented inside.

White lilies represent, purity and peace. This is why they are usually used for weddings and funerals.

Carnations:
Carnations symbolises love, romance and affection. Carnations are by far one of my best flowers, when they start to bloom, their petals slowly unfold and create this beautiful, delicate, textured, fluffy flower.
In Victorian times, getting a carnation meant saying yes to a suitor.
Carnations come in colours like- white, purple, light red, dark red, pink, yellow and mixed colours.

Lisianthus:
They are usually sent as a gesture of appreciation, love and friendship. They are commonly used for developing cosmetic and pharmaceutical products because of its antibacterial and antifungal agents.
Lisianthus come in white, green, pink , blue and purple colours.

Orchids:
They symbolise, luxury, beauty, love, prosperity, elegance and strength. Orchids are a rare looking flower that have 3 petals, 3 sepals and 3 chambered ovary. They are perfect for new homes, new jobs and even wedding bouquets.
There are different colours of orchids like pink, blue, white, purple, orange and more.

Chrysanthemums:
They are used to express longevity, love, long life and newness. Chrysanthemums are a flower that have multiple branches and have many colourful options. They are part of the daisy family. They are mostly given for friendship, new birth, new jobs, love and more.

I hope this brief guide helps you better understand what these flowers symbolises and how best to gift them during this season of love.
